I was taught to follow the ‘fake it til you make it’ philosophy which resulted in some unnecessary challenges early on in my career.

Those challenges can be magnified if you’ve risen to the top of your career by being a subject matter expert in your given industry but haven’t had the chance to lead a larger team or meet business-wide goals.
